The reason why I’ve decided to do this is simple: you can’t learn to swim until you get in the water. Nor can you learn to ride a bike until you get on the bike and start pushing the pedals. Often times in the church we talk about the importance of prayer and why we do it, but we don’t always give our people sufficient opportunities to join each other in actually praying. That is what tonight will be all about: praying.
To be specific, we will be praying through four major themes (topics) tonight: Salvation in Elberton, Purity for FBC Elberton, Sanctification for the Saints (Christians) in Elberton and around the world, and Local/Global Missionary Efforts. This of course is not an exhaustive list of the things that we can pray about, but I do believe these four topics cover the vast majority of things that we as Christians should be praying for on a regular basis.
What better way to teach our students than to pray with them? That’s what we will be doing tonight, and I would ask that you please pray for our students as they learn to draw close to the Lord in prayer.
